TUTORIAL: INITIAL ASSESSMENT

I had a tutorial to make sure I was up to date with my work, understood the next section of the course and knew what my targets for UCAS and university were. My tutor told me my blog was good but that I needed to add the missing posts in order to provide evidence for the rest of my work. However, from the work I had presented already I had already covered units 1 - 4.

I told my tutor that I wanted to go into the fashion and textiles pathway, but incorporate all the other pathways into my work as well, for instance, using 3D to construct garments and photography and media to present the finished piece.

I was given targets accordingly; first that I needed to learn how to present the potential of my work, for use in a portfolio, for example, photographing or presenting through media, the garments I made. Then learning and developing the craft - tailoring and pattern cutting, for use in my portfolio and degree level.

Because my chosen university course (Fashion at CSM) is so competitive to get on, I was told I needed to research and develop a strategic application with a pathway tutor and course leader. I was given a referral for after the half-term to make sure I had filled in the missing gaps in my blog and had done sufficient research for university courses.

Targets;

- Learn to present the potential of my work, before developing the craft.
- Research courses at CSM.
- Get my blog up-to-date over the half-term.
